Robert Masters – Principal Partner

Robert Masters, the principal partner of Affordable Private Investigators & Detective Agency (API), brings extensive law enforcement experience from his notable career with the Western Australia police force. With a background in general policing duties and the Serious and Fatal Traffic Accident branch, he handled over 6000 traffic accidents.

As one of three detectives based in Kalgoorlie, Robert's jurisdiction covered a wide area, including Southern Cross, Esperance, and regions near the South Australian and Northern Territory borders. His involvement in numerous arrests and convictions spanned major crimes such as murder, armed robbery, gold stealing, corporate fraud, embezzlement, offences against children, and other serious felonies.

With an unblemished record in the WA police department, Robert transitioned to work in the insurance industry, eventually becoming an insurance broker. This experience laid the foundation for his expertise in investigating complex cases of insurance fraud.

Since 1992, Robert has operated as a private investigator, providing professional and ethical services to the public. He has carefully assembled a skilled team of former Western Australian police officers who share his unwavering standards of excellence.

Experience Highlights
- For many years had contracts with most of the major insurers investigating successful insurance fraud, litigation, worker's compensation claims and many other matters that needed investigation.
- I no longer have a contract with the Insurance Commission of WA. I decided not to pursue future contracts, however, I had approximately fifteen years of experience reconstructing motor vehicle crashes in the metropolitan area, country areas, Pilbara, and Kimberly Region.
- Family Court Matters involving domestic violence and problems with juveniles.
- Investigating many successful criminal matters and preparing briefs for WA Police.
- National and International investigations in person, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Koje Island off the southern tip of South Korea.
- Investigation of a serious fraud for a Victorian Government department in Thailand with a successful result.
- For Lloyds of London, the loss of an expensive large yacht sunk whilst anchored in the bay of Lae Papua New Guinea. Spent two weeks there and delivered a successful result.
- Business I had at the time investigation 14 months for the Potato Marketing Authority.
- 2001 – 2005 my business was sworn in as investigators for the Inquiry into the Cockburn City Council under the same conditions as a Royal Commission.
- Deceased assets – have investigated many inquiries relating to suspicious deaths and locating assets.
- Investigations for mining companies in Kalgoorlie region experience gained when I was in the Gold Stealing Detection Staff.

Linda McMurtrie - Licensed Investigator

Linda McMurtrie (daughter of Robert Masters) holds a license as an investigator and has been a part of the business for many years. Linda has risen through the ranks and is now a partner in the company.

Linda's special project, established in 2015, is Court Docs Process Servers, a highly successful entity focused on serving legal documents.
